In association with the arrests, searches of premises were carried out and a third individual was taken in for questioning. The Swedish Security Service was assisted in these actions by the Swedish Police Authority and the Swedish Armed Forces.

The remit of the Security Service is to protect Sweden and its democracy. This involves, among other things, taking action against threats to national security.
