On 6 August 2019, in the Gothenburg City Court, a man was charged with unauthorised dealing with secret information of great importance to the security of Sweden.
He is suspected of having documented, photographed and gathered details about critical facilities in various locations in Sweden and of having shared some of this information.
The man's suspected criminal activity consists of systematically charting military installations between April 2013 and December 2017. This regards a total of 36 critical facilities and in two of these cases he is suspected of having shared the acquired information with another individual.
The critical facilities in question are restricted areas and subject to photography bans.
The criminal investigation, headed by a national security prosecutor, is being run by the Security Service.
